Sinterklaas in Perf
We have a dog called Toffee in the house! A puppy dog, 10 weeks old. She is adorable and super sweet. But we feel like we have a baby again. Broken nights en during the day the constant feeling of want to take a nap. Toffee will be an outside dog but the breeder recommended us to have the puppy in our bedroom the first three nights or so. On a Friday, with pain in our hearts, we let Toffee outside with her pillow, a blanket and some toys. She cried the whole night (and we didn’t sleep a minute). But this take you two or three nights we heard, so on Saturday we let her sleep outside again. At 1 am I got out of my bed to have a look at our crying baby. Then by accident I saw a message from the neighour on my phone, sent at 11 pm:
“ Hi Carolien and Friso, sorry to text so late but just wanted to let you know that your puppy has been crying and barking a lot last night and has started the same toniight and keeping us all awake. In our experience, we've had 2 puppies and have kept them in the laundry at night with lots of newspaper on the floor until they are older. I know you said she's an outside dog but we really need our sleep, regards J.”
We immediately took Toffee in our room where she still sleeps. We go out (“pie outside Toffee”) twice per night and in the morning at 5 or sometimes we are lucky and it is 5.30 am, she is awake and wants to play. Rise and shine J like us. And like most of the Australian.
And we have another guest in the family. We have a demi-pair. A girl from Germany lives in our house, full board. She studies English and in the afternoon she helps me with the kids and little house keeping. It is useful that I can go to swimming class with Noep, that Boele can play soccer in the street at the same time and Kate can choose what she wants. The other day I go with Boele and Kate to the Dutch class after school and Noep can stay at home. And it is a very nice girl too!
